Justin Herbert has experienced a crack to his rib ligament. The Los Angeles Chargers quarterback has been recorded as everyday by lead trainer Brandon Staley.

FootballHerbert experienced this injury late in the Chargers Thursday Night Football matchup against the Kansas City Bosses.

The third-year quarterback remained in until the end of the challenge, tossing an amazing final quarter score to attract the Bosses' lead to three.

Despite Herbert's heroic efforts, the Chargers fell 27-24.

The NFL world took to Twitter to respond to this injury news for the youthful star.  "Everyday with broken ribs. Football is so insane man," one fan composed.

"Staley ought to be terminated for letting him back into the game. Might have been made a whole lot more regrettable," one more said.

"I imply that was clear when he was twisting up in a ball when he scarcely got contacted. Herbert is no nonsense so I realize he just did that since he was in serious agony," one more added.

With the injury occurring during last night's game, Herbert has some extra days to recover before the Chargers' Week 3 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars next Sunday.

The team will assess Herbert throughout the next week to determine if he'll be ready to go for practice on Wednesday.

Herbert finished last night's game with 334 yards, three touchdowns and one costly 99-yard pick six.
